School Year 2022-23 Calendar Update

Major dates for our school year 2022-23 calendar are finalized. Our Instructional Leadership Team continues to review the cycle of All Staff Professional Development days as well as Parent Teacher Conferences that will take place during the year. Families can expect two days of school closure for all staff professional development (tentative one in October and one in March) and three days for Parent Teacher Conferences (November, March and June). In the meantime, you will find the start and end dates of major holidays and school closures to facilitate family planning log.

UPDATED! Deadline Extended for Summer Program 2022 Interest Form
New Deadline, May 10

Staffed by qualified teachers, co-teachers, associates and specials instructors, the summer program’s primary goal is to accelerate learning and mitigate learning loss due to the Covid-19 pandemic and virtual learning.

Mundo Verde's summer program is full Spanish immersion with the possible exception of specials and enrichment which may be taught in English and supported by Spanish language team members. Ample opportunities for fun and play are built into the day as are literacy, math, and science.

Each campus will host its own summer program will be offered to students who will be grouped by grade (with some opportunities for multi-age activities).

If you are interested in participating, please complete the 2022 Summer Program Interest Form by May 10 (New Deadline).

  • Program Dates: July 11 - August 10

  • Program Hours: 9:00am-3:30pm

  • Registration available for the entire session only.

HEALTH & SAFETY

NEW! Additional Covid-19 Protocol Updates
Effective May 9

The following additional modifications to our protocols are taking effect immediately. To read the full message click here.

  • Indoor Masks Remain Through Remainder of School Year: Based on the amount of positive cases we have seen in the last four weeks, we will continue to require indoor masks through the end of the school year.

  • Simplified Contact Tracing in the Event of a Positive Case: In our current environment, detailed contact tracing is increasingly complicated and a less effective measure of reducing spread. We will continue to interview Covid-19 positive individuals to identify potential close contacts. However full classes (both daytime and extended day) will be presumed close contacts moving forward if the Covid-19 positive individual was in that space during their infectious period.

  • Test To Stay for ALL Students and Staff: Any identified student or staff close contact from a school exposure or a community exposure who is unvaccinated or not up to date on their doses must participate in the Test To Stay program to remain in school.

Weekly Covid Dashboard

THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE AND GENEROSITY!
SY22 Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week at Mundo Verde

What a wonderful week we all experienced at Mundo Verde!

Between music, colored sidewalks, cheerful signage and parent/caregiver volunteer support in different ways, teachers and staff had an opportunity to experience an outpouring of caring and appreciation from our parents and caregivers across both campuses.

This past week was a vivid testament to the great things that can be accomplished through collaboration. Thanks to the energy of Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week Planning Committees and Classroom Liaisons at each campus, it was possible to coordinate a large group of volunteers that contributed in one way or another to making this week possible. And not only did parents and caregivers collaborate among themselves, but became a crucial support in uplifting some of the undergoing Wellness Wednesday efforts initiated by our Human Resources Department this year.

In addition to what was experienced on campus, and thanks to the generosity of the Mundo Verde community of families and caregivers, a total of $18,853.33 was collected across the school through the Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week Campaign between March 28 and April 28. These funds, in addition to a remaining balance carried from the Holiday collection in December made it possible to purchase 260 electronic gift cards to give to all staff ( full time staff, part time staff, contractors and members of PMM)  a gift of appreciation from all families. The electronic gift cards were  made available via email to all staff during between May 3 and May 6 as part of the Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week celebrations. Full-time staff received a gift card worth $75, part-time staff received a gift card worth $35.

Our deepest gratitude goes to JF Cook and Calle Ocho Teacher and Staff Appreciation Planning Committees, Classroom Liaisons for coordinating, and  to the many many parent and caregiver volunteers that by contributing one way or another made this week possible!
