SCHOOL MESSAGES

NEW! May 3 Message on Fall Reopening

We know that for many Mundo Verde families/caregivers the details of our plans for Fall are critical to your decisions about enrollment. We appreciate how difficult it has been to make important family decisions with so many things changing quickly and with incomplete information about what is yet to come. While we cannot eliminate the uncertainty we all face, this message from May 3 includes details regarding Fall that we hope will be helpful.

NEW! Fourth Grade J.F. Cook Campus Expansion Update

We are very excited to expand on-campus learning for our 4th grade students. We are optimistic that we will be able to provide a seat for students who would like to be on campus while also ensuring students remaining virtual continue to be taught by the 4th grade teachers. Click HERE to read the Fourth Grade Expansion Update sent by our J.F. Cook Campus Principal, Netta.

Fifth Grade Promotion Announcement

We are happy to announce that after completing an extraordinary year, our 5th grade students and their families will have a promotion ceremony that is equally extraordinary!! We have secured space at Audi Field, the home stadium of DC United. Our ceremony will take place on June 16.

How to Sign Up? This is a first-come, first-served sign up process. Please use the following link to register on your campus:

Reminder:

  • Wear a mask, bring a water bottle, and wear gear for rain or shine.

  • Each student must attend the campus they normally attend.

Please note that this activity does not count as attendance, so students must complete their Wednesday task at Firefly to avoid being marked absent.

HEALTH & SAFETY

NEW! COVID-19 Asymptomatic Testing Update - J.F. Cook Campus Only

Starting this week, the Children's School Services team (Nurse LaShawne) will take over asymptomatic testing of students only from the DC Department of Health at J.F. Cook Campus. This transition may take a few weeks and your previously submitted consent forms should be honored. Following CDC testing guidelines, the nurse will only test 10% of the population. You will not be notified of a negative result, meaning if you do not receive a notification from Children's, your child tested negative. If your child tests positive, both you and the school will be notified of the result.

If your child is enrolled for on-campus learning, and you have not filled out the COVID-19 Testing Consent Form, you can find it in your enrollment packet.

NEW! Reminder of New Arrival and Dismissal Times - J.F. Cook Campus

Due to the increase of students on campus, there are changes to arrival and dismissal time blocks and procedures. A reminder to only arrive during your scheduled time. Click here to read the J.F. Cook Campus Arrival & Dismissal Procedures in detail.
