Many of our learners and their caregivers need a little extra time to transition from school to home and we make valuable use of that time through our Extended Day Program.
Mundo Verde Extended Day Program is a safe and high quality in-person program that supports student’s learning and development beyond day-time school hours in Spanish. The program continues to strengthen knowledge and skills while helping students learn through diverse perspectives about the community in which we live. The teaching teams continues adapting to the needs of the children in the program and engaging with them around building healthy, respectful friendships through play and creative expression.
Registration
To register for the Extended Day Program (Before and After Care), please login into the Parent Portal on Infinite Campus and complete the Extended Day Form.
Hours of Operation
Monday-Friday:
7:30 to 8:10am Morning before school service, including breakfast
3:30 to 6:00pm After school service, afternoon snack
Capacity & Scale
The After School program is launched with approximately 200 slots at J.F. Cook Campus and 200 at Calle Ocho Campus. The Before School program is also offered for approximately 15-17 students at both campuses. The programs are limited to full-time enrollment.
Program Elements
Parents and caregivers with students enrolled in the Extended Day Program can expect their child to:
● Be welcomed into a safe, nurturing environment
● Be immersed in Spanish language learning
● Receive a healthy snack
● Participate in outdoor time on Mundo Verde’s school grounds
● Experience joy through a mix of non-academic, extracurricular enrichment activities
that may include:
○ Fun-filled, creative hands-on projects
○ Art, music, movement, and gardening/market enrichments
○ Daily homework support for the upper grades
○ Read Alouds and/or independent reading time for the upper grades
○ Grade-specific enrichments offered by select external partnerships
Program Fees
The monthly program full price fee is $455, sliding scale discounts are offered. Fees for short months such as November, December, January, April or June will not be prorated. To see the SY23-24 program’s fees, click here for English / Spanish.
