A Sustainable Role for Principals … The Spirit of a Smaller School
From Kristin Scotchmer

We are indebted to Principal Netta and Principal Jenn for all that they have contributed – over many years, in so many ways; and are continuing to contribute as we reimagine how best to structure our academic leadership team. One priority that is clear from teacher, staff, family and academic leader feedback: the importance of ensuring that principals have a sustainable role and that students, families, and staff have access to their principal.

Building on changes already in place – with academic deans, directors and managers of teaching and learning, and coaches in residence – we are capturing the spirit and intimacy of a smaller school by refining and narrowing the role of principal to focus on a smaller band of grades (either PreK-1st OR  2nd-5th).

Learn more about how this shift will help us better meet the needs of or students, staff, and families by reading THIS.

Providence Reimagined wants to hear from the Calle Ocho Community!

After a long deliberative process, Calle Ocho Campus neighbor Providence Hospital has made the decision to redevelop their site. They are excited to get started engaging with the community to reimagine the Providence Hospital campus in a way that provides much needed community benefits and open space to the entire neighborhood. The planners are particularly interested in hearing from Mundo Verde Calle Ocho families/caregivers. They are gathering input through a series of conversations during May and June, both in person and virtual, and at various times, so that they might hear from as many folks as possible.

The concept for redevelopment is still in its infancy and will be developed with further input from immediate neighbors and District leaders beginning this month and continuing through the summer. A joint venture between EYA and the Menkiti Group, has been selected by Providence Hospital to lead the redevelopment of the site. They have launched ProvidenceReimagined.com where interested residents can register for updates and find the schedule of upcoming community meetings
