Mundo Verde offers a robust Extended Day Program focused on enrichment during out of school time hours. The program includes before school and after school services that incorporate the Responsive Classroom curriculum and are aligned with the school’s mission on sustainability and biliteracy. The before and after school enrichments are implemented with the school staff and select community partners to allow integration with and contribution to the overall school culture with 95% of the enrichments offered in Spanish.
The after school program provides opportunity for students to participate in studio workshops and sports clinics. It includes outdoor time and a healthy snack to all enrolled students. For those children benefiting from extra attention, the program provides the necessary support during after school hours.
At the beginning of the school year, families are required to register for the before school and after school services using the SY18-19 Before and After School Program Enrollment Form. Families can opt to withdraw or change their use throughout the academic year by filling out the SY18-19 Change of Schedule/Withdraw Form. Families can register for full-time or part-time programming. Drop-in use of the program is available, but reserved for unanticipated changes in schedule or emergency needs. Families must email: firstname.lastname@example.org by 2 p.m. the day they need service and by 6:30 p.m. the day prior to their need of the before school program in order to secure unanticipated service for their student.
Pricing for the before school and after school programs is on a sliding scale basis. Families can refer to the Summary of Fees for Before/After School Program for specific costs. To determine eligibility for discounts, complete the FARM form in English or Spanish even if you do not qualify for FARM. Families are expected to maintain positive account balances. Late Fees will be applied where necessary. For detailed information about registration and pricing please refer to the Extended Day Program FAQ or email the extended day staff at email@example.com.

child care to support family engagement
Mundo Verde understands that free child care is particularly supportive of working families and especially families with more than one student. Free of charge child care services are offered to support family partnerships in school wide learning events such as the Parent Teacher Conferences, Student Lead Conferences, and Community Conversations. To take advantage of these services, families must reserve a spot with anticipation using the specific event reservation forms made available to families prior to each event. A reservation guarantees a spot in the classrooms designated for child care services during specific events and a meal to participating students when appropriate.
During EXPOs, families can receive free childcare on a drop-in basis for siblings if the need is for less than 30 minutes. Services needed for longer than 30 minutes will be charged at a discounted rate. Families must email firstname.lastname@example.org 24 hours in advance in order to take advantage of this child care service through the extended day program.
